Blue-green foliage and fuzzy seedpods complete the package with this precious
little ephemeral plant. It re-seeds itself, but is never unwelcome or
invasive. This plant has been a huge hit with our customers — if you don’t
have wood poppies, you definitely need one! 2" yellow blossoms, dark green,
divided leaves. Wood Poppy is a handsome perennial with bluish-green lobed
leaves. The plant forms 18" clumps. From March to May, clusters of bright
yellow, 2-inch buttercup-like flowers appear and are followed by nodding green
hairy pods. Naturalize in shaded areas of woodland, shade, wildflower or
native plant gardens. This poppy is good for beginners. All of our woodland
plants grow naturally on rich, moist forest floors and are perfectly suited
for your garden. Add them to an existing wooded area or create your own
woodland garden. Dappled shade and humus-rich soil provide perfect growing
