Like fancy ladies in the garden, this cone flower appears to wear purple-red ruffled hats. With single blooms the first season, a second layer of petals creates another tier of flowers the next season on tall strong stems. Long lasting in the garden or vase, cone flowers are a long lived perennial that attract many beneficial insects, hummingbirds and butterflies. Grows to 40 inches in full sun and average soil.
