Astilbe 'Maggie Daley' has extremely dense and fizzy, bright pink-lavender
plumes. These plumes rise above the deeply incised, handsome dark green
foliage that is rather coarsely textured. This Astilbe puts on quite a
wonderful show, in the garden, from mid to late summer. Although preferring a
moist soil, this species tolerates drier conditions than most other astilbes.
It is a robust and somewhat drought resistant plant that is similar to Astilbe
'Visions' but almost a foot taller! It is deer-resistant and good for cutting.
Astilbes, as a group, are one of the most colorful of all shade garden plants. |
