This excellent strain of Aquilegia is prized for its large showy blooms which
range in a breath-taking assortment of pastel colors. The spurs of the
flower are very large and provide a very unique form for the perennial garden.
McKana's Giant is a very free flowering variety that starts blooming in early
May and continues through July. While Aquilegias prefer a spot in the garden
that gets a little shade they can be grown in full sun. Plants receiving full
sun will not stay in bloom as long as those planed in partial shade. Provide
a rich organic, well drained soil and your Columbines will flourish for years.
Pay particular attention to newly planted transplants and do not allow to dry
out until they have established themselves. Once established, mature plants
can endure long dry spells with out attention. |
