The pure white, long-spurred blossoms of A. 'Dove' are exquisite. Its
consistently prolific flowering and winter hardiness inspired an Award of
Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society for this pretty little
Songbird. Lacy greens and dancing, late-spring blooms characterize these lovely border
plants. Columbines make excellent cut flowers if picked when half open. Grow
in full sun or partial shade (required in the South and in western Zones 9 and
10) and average garden soil. Propagation is by seed, so color, while quite
reliable, cannot be guaranteed. |
