This weeper creates its interest with long, sweeping branches. The spring color and graceful shape make it an excellent specimen for your landscape. The flowers start as red buds that open up with petals of pink that eventually fade to white. Just think, all three colors on the same tree. “Louisa” grows to 15 feet high and wide. This tree like all flowering crabs grow and flower best in full sun, but all will tolerate moderate shade. “Red Jade” flowering crab is another great weeper that grows 10 feet high and 15 feet wide with flowers that have pink buds opening to white blossoms. “Red Jade” has red fruit in the fall that hangs on all winter until the Robbins eat them all in late February. Both of these trees are very trouble free. |
