Swamp White Oak is the easiest oak to transplant due to its more fibrous root system. The tree has a rounded crown, interesting bark, and it performs well on both wet and upland soils. Its glossy green leaves turn mahogany brown in the fall. This tree is planted along Highway 242 adjacent to Riverdale and has established itself well in this tough boulevard location.
