'Horstmann's Silberlocke' is a highly unusual and showy selection of the Korean Fir. Its short, strongly recurved needles, almost cupped around each stem, display brilliant silvery undersides. They clothe a striking frame of irregular branching to create an effect of gleaming color and startling, bristly texture. Lovely upright steel blue cones with violet-purple hues complete the picture.
'Horstmann's Silverlocke' is exceptionally slow-growing, and ultimately reaches 20 to 30 feet tall and 5 feet wide over time. It has demonstrated exceptional heat tolerance in its southernmost range, making it a great choice for Southern gardens. Zones 5-9. |
